Self hosted blog is good idea for a blogger who want to build own customizable blog site. I agree with your points brand name, SEO, no limit on bandwidth are plus points of having self hosted blogs. If anyone is serious about blogging I will suggest them to go with their own domain name & hosting.

Hello Sahil, You have given some good reasons to switch to self-hosted wordpress blog. Although, Self-Hosted WordPress blog gives many more features and advantages but one thing which i don’t like about them is that you have to get into dirty Optimization work to make pages load faster while in wordpress.com and blogspot, it is dones automatically by their Servers.
